Mission

Leverage the power of lived experience to transform how we self-manage our mental wellbeing.

Voice of Health is a preventative mental health organisation that has developed a platform in the form of a mobile app which provides a safe place where users can talk one-on-one with a trained Active Listener who understands them, utilise well-being tools and develop strategies to self-manage your own mental well-being.

Our preventative mental health solution offers greater convenience, accessibility, affordability, scalability and support while never letting go of the human element that cannot be replaced by technology.

My Role

  • Co-designed mental health and human-centred scalable solutions and mobile app currently used in over 40 countries.

  • Head of product management, strategy, design and roadmap from MVP to Full-Scale Product

  • Developed a multi-sided marketplace where users connect with Active Listeners for preventative mental health support

  • Organisation leadership, business strategy and fulfilling our vision using data insights and human experience to drive decision making

  • User Experience (UX) Research, insight analysis, strategy, prototyping and design

  • Qualitative and quantitative data research, management, visualisation and monitoring of relevant KPI's (incl. 24min+ average session engagement time, over 2x the average of other similar social platforms and a 95 Net Promoter Score for the supporter training package)

  • Manage a cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, and offshore developers

  • Cultivated an inspiring and uplifting workplace culture empowering growth, operational efficiency and performance

  • Technology Integration including AI/Machine Learning, Web3 and Blockchain.

  • Developed an Active Listener Training Course and mentor program that has currently has 1,950+ active enrolments

  • Established 25 organisational partnerships including Monash and Deakin University and managed stakeholders

  • Conducted over 320 Active Listening Workshops and grew a 280-person cohort of volunteer Active Listeners supporters

Systems Used


My time as a founder of Voice of Health has helped me develop a diverse skill set and proficiency in a number of platforms.

This includes, but is not limited to Amazon Web Services and Firebase for cloud computing and database management, Figma and Sketch for UX/UI design and prototyping, Jira for project management, Slack for team communication, Intercom for customer support and engagement, Contentful for in-app content management, Sendbird for messaging functionality, Thinkific for course creation and Canva for graphic design.

Problem Being Solved


  • An epidemic of loneliness with 1 in 4 Australians reporting feelings of loneliness.

  • Crisis Helplines inundated with calls where only 1 in 5 calls are people in crisis and the rest simply want someone to confide in.

  • Long wait times for mental health professionals with 90% of APS members reporting increased wait times and half reporting at least 3 month wait times.

  • 70% of individuals facing mental health struggles are not seeking support due to the barriers

Active Listening Course

Active Listening is one of the greatest skills to achieve true empathy and can provide someone struggling with tremendous value by enabling them to work on their own difficulties in the company of a caring empathic listener.

Voice of Health developed a free Active Listening Training Course that teaches you everything you need to know about this important skill.

We have had over 1,600 enrolments in the course, with more amazing individuals enrolling everyday.

Designing every step of the journey

Given the complex nature of human psychology and behaviour when working in the mental health space, I was responsible for developing a user experience (UX) and design (UI) that balanced elements of practicality, support, simplicity and risk mitigation.
